This Saturday May 23 at 7:30pm Millennium welcomes filmmaker ABRAHAM RAVETT to present and discuss his work.  (Note that construction on the “L” subway line is done -the “L” resumes normal service this weekend.)

“Made within the past twelve years, the program at Millennium presents a variety of short, 16mm films and digital works. Themes that continue to circulate within these projects include the complexities of filial relationships, understanding loss and abandonment experienced in early childhood plus an on-going need to resurrect the presence of unheralded lives.”

For the past 40 years , Abraham Ravett has been an independent filmmaker, photographer and educator. He was born in Poland, raised in Israel and emigrated to the USA in 1955. His films have been screened internationally including several one person shows at New York’s MOMA. Grants received include a Guggenheim Foundation filmmaking fellowship. A retrospective of his films was recently shown at Festival Film Dokumenter Yogyakarta , Indonesia.
